The turn raise
I know this is .5/1, but I thought this hand was fairly interesting (I would have done the same thing in 2/4) and was hoping to get some more feedback (was already posted in micros). Appreciate the help!
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) Preflop: Hero is SB with J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 2 folds, UTG+2 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls, Hero raises, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls. Flop: (11 SB) A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) Hero bets, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button folds. Turn: (7.50 BB) T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) Hero checks, UTG+2 checks, MP2 checks, CO bets , Hero raises... I looking to fold the turn, but when it was checked to the cutoff who bet I thought there was a good possibility that I had the best hand. Should I just fold here or does this seem like a good line? |

Re: The turn raise
I think it's a nice bluff to mix in occasionally. if any of the others are thinking (at .5-1?) they may figure your turn raise wants them to fold and call with any ace. I think the normal line being in bad position with this many callers is bet the turn. check the river. fold if you have to overcall. probably call versus only the bettor. hope a read can help you, or that a raise or check behind will simplify.

Re: The turn raise
Seems fine just as long as you plan to fold to farther aggression.

Re: The turn raise
I'm curious as to what you think they are all calling you with on the flop. An A, you are beat. A 2 (slowplayed, smoothcalled) you are beat. A heart draw, you are beat. Seems like you may be pushing those Jacks a little too hard. What do you think they called or bet with that you could beat?

Re: The turn raise
Some reads would help. The biggest thing here is that you're only folding worse hands with this checkraise, so I really don't see the point.

I see it a lot with PP at 2/4 |

Re: The turn raise
I want to revise my answer. I didn't give enough attention to the flush coming. therefore I think it's a bad spot for the bluff. and I revise my main line, which has to be check fold the turn I guess, unless maybe it gets HU.

The biggest thing here is that you're only folding worse hands with this checkraise, so I really don't see the point. [/ QUOTE ] This is a good point. Although I think I might fold an ace or a low heart here. I was somewhat confused on this turn. Everyone called the flop bet. If I bet out I feel like I'm just donating my money between the ace and the flush possibility (and the pot is giving pretty good odds now for most to call). And I could easily be raised by a single high heart here and throw away the best hand. My thought was to check and see what developed. |
