Default Re: Tournament format Stud home game question

There are so many betting rounds in Stud that I don't think NL or PL are necessary for tourney play. I just use a good general regular limit structure (vary for whatever $ you want):

Ante = 1 bet
Bring in = 2 bets
3-4 Streets = 4 bets
5 Street on = 8 bets

Double or increase as needed. I find it gets complicated if you move the blinds up gently, there's too many bets to remember, so I like fewer rounds but bigger jumps. It's worked ok for me. I do have a very long tourney sturcture drawn up:

Start with T$100-T$1000 (or whatever; I allow one re-buy)

ante/bring-in/3-4streets/5on

1/2/5/10
2/5/10/20
3/7/15/30
5/10/20/40
7/15/30/60
10/20/40/80
15/25/50/100
20/35/70/140
25/50/100/200
etc.
