I have played with way too many lunatics at this level to think I'm behind the majority of the time. However, I'm glad to read the advice given so far, as perhaps I am a little to willing to go all the way with TPTK.
Anyway, do we really think the villain plays a set that fast? Is a typical PP NL player analyzing the situation and realizing he doesn't need to protect his hand if he's got a K? Maybe I'm not giving enough credit here, but it seems to me that he could easily have KQ, KJ, KT and he's blindly firing away. The all-in on the turn seems excessive if he can beat TPTK. |

I think that you're very likely going to find yourself up against 55 here. I probably might fold the flop, but of course, I'm a weak/tight idiot. [/ QUOTE ] Against 100NL players this is probably a good idea. Best case is a split really. |

If you want to play for your stack, don't bet the turn. Check/calling is much better.
I like how you played it. There are many really bad players on partypoker.com. |

I think, as a rule, people stay with their TPTKs WAY too long. I can say persoanlly that my AK, AQ type hands are a lot more profitable now that I don't put my entire stack in on them when I flop TPTK.
I seriously doubt you were on the winning end of this hand. This is especially teu when you raise pre-flop and villain knows you've got something like AK. He's not betting like that unless feel really good that he has top pair beat. As for playing the set so strong, why wouldn't he if you keep staying with it? |

I used to think that I made my money against donks stacking off by over playing their hands.
I am starting to realize that I save more money by making tough lay downs than I make from donkeys giving me their stacks. This is really case and point. Push the flop or fold. Heck, maybe it was a split. |
