selfish post: i need bad streak stories so i don\'t feel as bad.
I need bad streak stories from GOOD PLAYERS, so i don't feel as bad..
started off making 100-150 BB/hour at microlimit NL hold'em. THen all of a sudden, maybe i got too cocky, 300-800 BB/hour LOSSES. for like 6 sessions in a row. Of course, this all happened within 2 days. So i'm assuming it's b/c i'm getting too "high" on my previous wins and am overplaying? But anyways, i made like $30, and just recently within the last day, lost $14.00. I am a newbie to this forum somewhat, so if you want to refer me to previous posts, i understand. I haven't really found posts like this though, and i have searched the search function.... I am a tight aggressive player, ABC, but will bet hard when I have the goods... Maybe too predictable? I try to enter tables with 70+ % players in flop and 6-maxes... |

Both rates are likely not accurate, but the funny thing is, if one is accurate it is the losing one. I have never made 100-150BB/hr or lost 300-800BB/hr over a significant time period. And I like to fancy myself as a good player. Okay, semi-good.

Check my avatar.
This may just be a bad streak for you, but the rate of loss indicates bad play as well. Maybe try reviewing the hands where you lost your stack. Were you ahead when the money went in? How often? It's a good way to test if you've got a bad streak or if you're playing badly and don't realise it. BTW 6max is a good way to lose money fast if you're not skilled (you may be, I don't know). Tight play 10 handed is the best way to make consistent profit at the micros if you're new. |

Not to be a dick, but even your screenname suggests problems.

Not to be a dick [/ QUOTE ] Nice opening to a post... OP: I was down 1,500BB in two hours the other day. Don't sweat it. Keep on your A game, and it will all work out. |

For bad streaks I'd recommend full games with straight forward play, just to get your confidence back a little with a smoother ride.

I recently lost $800 worth of pots in 5 minutes. In a 1/2 NL game. To the same guy. On two rivered inside straight draws. Sometimes seeing 80% of flops and gambooling it up on a hunch pays off.

I recently lost 2.5k worth of pots
(1200 or so of my own money) with AA, KK and then AA again - each time I managed to get in a big reraise preflop (50, 60 and 70 on a 2/4 table). Each time the flop was innocuous - T42 two-tone, 963 rainbow and J52rainbow. Each time I got all-in by the turn - and each time my opponent had flopped set. this happened in about 10 minutes. |
