Tonight for the first time I discovered my love for playing with 3 to 5 players. I normally play 3/6 ten handed, but was really bored with it today on party. So I went and sat at a few tables with 3-4 guys. And honestly I've never made money as quickly, without really any monster cards to speak of.
However a lot of my game was mostly unprepared. I didn't really go in with much of a plan on how to play some specific hands preflop. My question is the range of hands I should consider raising with in something like a 4 handed scenario, with no maniacs at the table. I was raising regularly with hands as weak as: JT K9 44 A7s J9s 89s K3s (granted not if I was UTG, but UTG+1 I'd always do it) and some even weaker ones. Is this generally correct ? I just found that the players weren't reraising hardly ever, so it seemed mindless to not constantly punish them. But having not read any books on playing short handed, I'm sort of in the dark as to what is correct. |
