These are valid points, and should be taken into consideration - there are pros and cons to both lines. Given the pot size, I would prefer to raise and give myself an opportunity to win the pot right there - we were the aggressor preflop and so our raise should come off as pretty strong, so it will be less likely that we will get 3bet by TT or JJ for example.

Both lines have merits - it has been my understanding that the bluff-inducing calldowns are more appropriate for smaller pots where we gain more when they incorrectly get to the river with only 6 outs - in this case it is right for him to call with 6 outs and getting him to fold a live hand like KJ is a coup.

Hand 1 I play the same most of the time.
Hand 2 I am raising pre plop even if I think that I am behind UTG. I want to shut everybody else out to maxamize my shot at winning the pot.
