Default Hand from Stars $615 WSOP Qualifier - Med pair

Villan was solid. I had checkraised him a couple of times and had also raised his SB complete twice before - so I believed that he was getting "annoyed" with me. (I wasnt picking on him, just ended up that way).

Do you call with 77 here?

insta-call... he's not making that move with an 8 and you're probably looking at 2 big cards

I think you have to. I put him on a semibluff with a flush draw and call.

Me as well.

If you are behind here I'd be pretty surprised.

He's reading you as aggressive so he's checking in hopes that you will try to bluff at it with nothing. When you bet at it that is what he thinks his plan worked and that you will lay-down when he represents a 'real' hand.

I doubt he has 99 or better here else he would have raised PF.
I doubt he makes the move here with an 8. He would wait it out.

He either has a 3, a flush-draw, or over-cards.

You also have him sufficiently covered so everything is cool if you get drawn-out.
You're NOT going to be able to 'weak-tight' your way into the $11k package and this is as good a place as any to try to gain some more chips.

I think a call here wins this pot 60% of the time or more so you should call here even if there was already ZERO in the pot.
This is a call you have to make.

For all the reasons stated, I did call.

I was shown J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for a coinflip (my pair is actually a slight dog), which was about the strongest hand I could expect to see.
