Default Calculating the % at the table

I read an article that is easy to figure out the exact % of the time the draw will come in.Is this right or is there an easier way>? Ok say you have A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]j [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Flop is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] You have 9 outs x 2 which is 18+2 =36% of time.Is that correct or should i just memorize the chart in SSH?

I played for quite a while just memorizing the chart. There's also the outs * 4 and outs * 2 rule that you can use as well.

However, the sooner you can learn the math behind these things, the better.

Memorize the chart. Its much easier. It will become second nature...the method u are using for % is good when u are looking for your pot equity.

Think of it like this. On the flop multiply your outs by 4. On the turn, by 2.

9*4 =36
9*2=18 (really its 19 percent, close enough)

Once u hit 14 outs the results are off. But if u have 14 outs or more, u probably have more equity than anyone else at the table, so it doesnt matter.

No. Its not accurate.

But, if you cant memorize the chart, then the double it idea is close enough.

FWIW, odds with 2 to come arent that important in limit play.

True.

The quick and simple is this.

Know the rule of 4 on the flop. to determine pot equity...or close to it. It will be a little off.

Memorize the odds of one card to come. If u play No Limit, also memorize odds of 2 cards to come.
