JJ early on
As they say this is the hardest hand to play, this is my standard line was just wondering if there was a better way to do this, am I wasting chips or losing out on chips when I'm ahead.
Forgot to get hand history but happened a bit ago so got me thinking went something like this, early on bb30 In this example I have t1800 he has t1500. I'm MP 1 with JJ and raise to 90 MP 2 reraises to 210 Anyone fold here? I decide to see a flop, give it up to overs or lead if it comes low, standard play or bad thinking? Flop comes 755rainbow I bet out 275 he raises to 550 What's your play? This is a generic example hand as it seems to come up alot obviously it is read dependent but devoid of reads how would you play it? Ta for help |

Re: JJ early on
Please answer my post. I'm sitting at home after having an operation. My arse cheeks are tied together by plastic tubes, I hate this situation with Jacks and I'm not sure which of the two is giving me more grief.
If I'm playing it soooo bad please say, if I'm playing it right and it's just one of those things someone let me know and then I can go away. |

Re: JJ early on
I personally call before the flop like you did then check the flop (this is probably wrong) then when he makes his continuation bet with AK or AA I try to decide which one it is. This type of situation is very individual read dependent-- it depends on the player you are playing against. Against a LAG im check raising on this flop, against a tighty im check folding and letting him bluff me out the times when he has AK.

Re: JJ early on
J's are hard... I call him.
He maybe trying to run you out with AQ - or KJ Seen it happen way to often. If more lows come on the turn he bets you call on the river he checks and you call out JJ and win an average size pot. my 2 cents... anyway |

Re: JJ early on
What kind of tourny? If it is a multi table with the blinds moving up slowly maybe you want to wait for a spot your sure you have an edge. STSG and you have to go with it once you callled the preflop raise.
Sorry about your ass. Ken |
