Default Do we have a name for the \"anti-nuts\" ?

OK, a little light-hearted question for all you experts this morning.

I had 3368 (big blind) and the flop came 347. I realized that not only did I NOT have the nut low, I had the very worst low possible.

Do we have a name for that? Other than "crud" or something?

Dick

I play a home game with a group that refers to that as 'Bait'; it's what fish live on.

Hi Dick -

A2
A5, 25
A6, 26, 56
A8, 28, 58, 68

There's the nuts,
the second nuts, the third nuts, .....

Looks like you have the tenth nuts.

I never thought about this before, but it looks like when there are three different ranks of eight or better low cards on the board, there are always ten different possible low combinations such as those shown above. Interesting....

I suggest that if the best low hand is the nuts, the worst would be the other end of the anatomy, the "butts".

You gave me another idea. How about "the pits" ?

Buzz - that has a certain ring to it. The mathematician in me has to point out that you are right BECAUSE this amounts to any combination of 5 things taken 2 at a time with ordering unimportant - written C(5,2) or C(2,5) I forget which. And it doesn't matter which 3 low cards are on board.

What do you call the anti-nuts?

The farkin' hand I keep getting dealt, that's what I call it.

Default Wait a minute ...

The pot was short-handed on the flop, and I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW that my bottom set won the high.

(But alas, my 10th nuts / bait / butts / pits did not win the low.)
