Im not saying Im correct on this situation, but AK is only a slight underdog to QQ obviously. I dont see the harm in just seeing a flop.

To me, it just seems that the re-raise is to isolate hero with his pocket pair, and hopefully that isn't AA or KK.

Also, you have no reads on the player. What is he has AQs or something and just wants to isolate you? I just cant see myself folding this.

Hero .... Folds...

What terrible advice.

Hero reraises to 4500 and calls an all in. Doubtful someone plays AA like this.

WTF? Is this bad advice day? Opposite day? Something? Reverse implied odds, anyone? Folding this is fine. Seriously. Maybe you know something that I don't know? You do realize that the BB is 200, right? Hero has like 700BB.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. I might play AA exactly like villain here, btw. I have no problem folding here either. Sure, it's a tough fold. But I'm not going to flame this person for saying, 'OK, I'm up against a better hand. I can wait.'

I dont know when AK became a drawing hand...
my thinking was i had like 200 BBs OOP and didnt want to just call nor push at this point with absolutly no reads.

BTW i ended up cashing in the money laying this hand down and waiting for a better play. i did push KK preflop against raise and call got called by 10-6 suited then a flush hit for board for a chop... leaving me with just enough to grind into the money... lol

AK is most definitely a drawing hand. While sure its Ace with top Kicker a King but, I have seen it loose to a pair of 4's or 6's way to often.

So, I'd respectfully disagree.

Are you still trying to prove to us that AK is a 'drawing hand'?

Please stop this nonsense. And showing one hand where 22 beat AK proves nothing outside of the fact that sometimes it happens - and sometimes it doesn't.

AK is a very, very strong hand. Not a drawing hand.

And here's MY case in point: if you raised with 22, and I re-raised you with AK and SHOWED you the AK, what would you do with your 22? Just curious.

Also, run the numbers on this hand:

2d 2h
Ac Kc

Whose the 'slight favorite' in this one?
