If the hand is bet, the person who made the last bet or raise (not call) shows first. If the person/people who called do not have a better hand, they are allowed to muck. If the river is checked around, the person that is first to act must show first, the same muck rules apply.

Well, anyone can muck their hand at any time.** You only have to show your hand if you want to win the pot!

If no one wants to show, then the person who initially made the last bet/raise and was called all around has to show first. Anyone else who thinks he beats that hand would show their cards to claim the pot, or could muck a winning hand if he wants to.

(** OK, I know there's a rule that anyone can call to see a hand, but it's usually only enforced if you suspect cheating. Good manners means you let anyone muck if they want.)

Basically, it's whoever got called. If the river is checked around, the person who is first to act shows first. Usually, if I'm the last to act and I want to check also I'll just flip my cards over and call my hand. Whoever can beat it is really happy to show thier hand then.

Rules are basically as stated, with a couple of wrinkles.

1. If a player shows his cards out of turn (it happens a lot), the raiser can decline to show his cards.

2. At a casino, the dealer will probably let people get away with anything so long as no one complains. (I was all-in today in a hand and the caller didn't turn his cards up -- after I won, when he tried to muck his hand, I asked the dealer to see the cards (which dealer did).

3. I believe the rule is that if a hand is called to the river, any player at the table can ask to see the hand. This is primarily an anti-collusion protection, so it shouldn't be abused.

In this example you bet all in and he called you. Going by the previous posts he shouldnt have to show you his hand... or is it differnt when your all in?

In a ring or cash game, if a player is all-in, he doesn't have to show his hand unless he wishes to claim the main or side pot, whatever he is eligible for.

Yeah, that's right. The previous discussion/rule was if no one wanted to show, then who must be the first.

But if someone shows his cards, out of turn or whenever, then he has implicitly claimed the pot. No one else has to show, unless they think they have him beat.
