can I fold?
Pokerroom 25/50 5-handed
bad aggressive player raises in the sb, I call in the bb with 97s. flop: A93 he checks (very rare), I check turn: 7 sweet! He checks, I bet, he checkraises, I threebet, he caps. Damn, now I wanna fold, but I figure he could still have a big ace or some [censored]. My default is of course to call this down every time, but when I started thinking about it it didn't seem so obvious. In fact, I feel like a fold might be the play here, but I wanna call down for metagame reasons. I really don't wanna be known as a folder, and considering this I think it's close. thoughts? |

Re: can I fold?
he probably flopped trip aces and did the super cheesy check behind to make you think he has nothing. It seems when the action goes this way, he's got you crushed about 80% of the time.

Re: can I fold?
Why would you want to ever fold 2-pair HU against someone you describe as 'bad-aggressive'?
I can see checking behind on this flop, sort of, because it looks so suspect. But, HU I'm easily 3-betting this turn and calling the river if he caps the turn. Heck, I might even raise the river. |

Re: can I fold?
well, he is bad and aggressive. he is not a total maniac however, and by bad I also mean that he's prone to do ridicolous slowplays out of position like this.

Re: can I fold?
Folding here would be terrible. He easily could have a big ace. The decision is between whether to raise or call the river - against a "bad aggressive" I raise and call a 3-bet. Against a more normal player I might just call down, since he seemed to be trying to be tricky here.

Re: can I fold?
I really think if I raised the river unimproved after this action, I'd be the bad aggressive one.
