[ QUOTE ]

The reason for the tone is that there is still a code of ethics and honor in cardrooms. When this code is bastardized by those who believe that the lack of an implicit rule against something is the same thing as a license to do that thing, it makes me sick.

[/ QUOTE ]

So, wait. Do people who fold to keep the small stack alive on the bubble for their own personal gain bother you? Or are you more annoyed by the mucking of the cards as an attempt to try and subvert a rule? The latter makes some sense to me, but I don't see the former as being any kind of ethical violation, just a tactical ploy.

But it is precisely the fact that he doesn't even see why what he was doing was wrong that is worrisome.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is a subject for lengthy debate. I don't think it's as simple as asserting that he's wrong. I've played with people who refused to allow checkraises. Does that mean that checkraises violate the secret, unspoken code of poker?

so your opinion is that that play would be unethical. duly noted.

but you really gotta lighten up. if my post had included "and the 1 chip SB is my best friend" or "i had 2 aces of diamonds because i'd fixed the deck" your response woulda made sense, but.... sheesh.

Awesome--lists are cool.

I think I'll start one too: "2+2ers that need to find ways to vent life's frustrations other than by means of strangely-targeted, meritless diatribes."

It reminds me, also, of that incident with Jerrod Ankenmann that you mention. Jerrod is a nice enough guy, and obviously very smart. But it is precisely the fact that he doesn't even see why what he was doing was wrong that is worrisome.

[/ QUOTE ]

What he was doing isnt wrong in any way, shape or form.

It was proven as such when Lee Jones of Pokerstars Director (owner?) fame came into a thread on it and said it wasnt against their rules, and the rules of other sites as he interpretted them.

I agree with angleshooting being bad in all ways, thats why the Boondock Saints should be real; they should be enforcing one player to a hand and no play out of turn rules and similar, in cardrooms and casinos across the world.
