70s thriller with Donald Sutherland. Takes place mostly in Venice, awesome ending.

I actually need help remembering the title of this film, but the premise is this:

Young liberals (a couple, a black guy, so others) have someone over to dinner that they don't agree with and they end up killing them. They enjoyed it and decided to have others over they don't agree with (racist, homophobe, etc.) and kill them as well.

Does anyone know the name of this movie?

[/ QUOTE ]

Eating Raoul, starring and directed by Paul Bartel, also starring Mary Woronov.

Very funny flick.

My Life as a Dog

Foreign lang. film about the life of this young kid. It's by far the saddest movie I have ever seen (yes I cried profusely) and that is why I love it.

[/ QUOTE ]

It is incredibly sad, but it's also gut-bustingly funny. I love movies that can combine the two; the ability to do that is very, very rare. This is one that won't age a day.

I cried too, btw. Every time I see it.

That film and Grave of the Fireflies are the films I guess I think are the saddest. Grave is probably a little harder to watch, but not in the same way, because there seems so little to redeem the sadness in it, unlike the humor and good people you see in My Life as a Dog. Both can mess me up for a while.

I only saw bits and pieces of the old one so I should check that one out.

I freaking hate Richard Dreyfus in EVERYTHING he does but he is really terrific as the President in Fail safe.

You really should watch Let it Ride. He's perfect in it.

Gosford Park - haven't met anyone that has seen it, but it's a fantastic film.

Return to Paradise starring Vince Vaughn and Joaquin Phoenix. Didn't do well at all at the box office but it was an excellent movie.
