In the context of trying to make the money it doesn't really matter what the other players hold, only the all-in short stack: if both players go all in and (say) the BB wins the hand the the poster comes 5th due to having more chips at the start of the hand.

I'm not sure I agree about the outcome if all break (and I am not going back up to look it up), but my point in analyzing the other hands was to try and determine whether they had better shots against the UTG raiser than AJs. Not whether they would beat AJs.
Somebody has to beat UTG raiser for fold to be correct. And it looks like the best shot for that someone is AJs. |
