question about win rate from the micro faq
[ QUOTE ]
Once you reach 2/4 (online), 2 BB/100 is great for the long term and 4 BB/100 may be unsustainable. Also, you will be a loser from the blinds. The blind commitment is too great to overcome by solid play. [/ QUOTE ] can someone please explain this point about the blinds? |

I had a nice run at NLHE where I won money in the SB but lost about half a bet in the BB (fair enough, I guess). But that could be just variance (it was 20000 hands though). I'm curious if in LHE you're destined to lose money in the SB too. If you look at the blinds as a unit, though, they're probably cumulatively -EV. --Dave. |

Re: question about win rate from the micro faq
Since u always have to put money into the blinds, it becomes hard to overcome the money you have to put in and profit from the blinds.

and once again, it's so painfully clear that if I were only to imagine someone asking me my own question, i'd not feel dumb posting dumb questions

Re: question about win rate from the micro faq
Being in the big blind is basically like playing every hand preflop in close to the worst position. How many 100% VPIP'ers do you know that are winning players? The small blind is similar, but a slightly lesser effect.
