Default Chicago action

I am just getting into hold 'em and I have been trying to find a place to get my feet wet (not including online). There are some casinos in Indiana but the lowest limits are 5-10. I am looking for 2-4 and 3-6. Thanks for any help

Chicago action? Well there really isn't any to speak of. Best is probably Harrahs East Chicago and it sucks. I havent been there in a while but they used to have a 3/6/12 game which was horrible and impossible to beat with the excessive rake and jackpot.

If I were you I would learn to embrace internet poker. Either that or travel a lot or move because Chicago is a real crappy poker town.

You're only choices for those limits are at the online sites. The Harrah's is the best room in the Chicago area, and as the other poster said, it's is crappy. It's better than nothing, and it has some good middle limit games, but the dealers suck. The lowest limit there is 5-10 for hold 'em, and I doubt if it's beatable b/c the rake is basically $6 (10% up to $5 plus a $1 jackpot drop). The Hollywood Casino in Aurora, IL also spreads 5-10 hold 'em. There is no jackpot drop there, so you pay a $5 rake. The Hollywood could be good if Illinois didn't have a law limiting gaming positions. As a result of this law, the Hollywood poker room is closed on weekends and hollidays.

One suggestion is to talk to the players on the tables, off the tables of course, Chicago must have tons of underground hold'em places. After all it's the land of Al Capone.....

Anyone interested in the Chicago Home Game scene can PM me. I'm not sure if there are any games lower than 5-10.

Try the home game forum. Post there and see if anybody contacts you regarding home games. I'm not really authorized to say more regarding them, as they're not my games. but they do exist. also, check out the Rockford Charitable Games Association.

barring all that, wanna play some heads-up?
