I don't know this sounds a lot like Omaha with 5 cards, except even sillier because you don't have to use both of your remaining hole cards. So you probably have to be pretty tight PF, ie all of your cards have to be working together.

The draft version was Psychotic Pineapple, with four cards. Since it's usually in the rotation with Omaha/8, we decided to make it five cards, to reduce confusion.

haha, my home game always makes up games like this too. Our variation though is the same as yours, but omaha! yes thats right thermonuclear pineapple omaha

We tried a six-card high-low version, but it was too much.

Yes, I think if you have four cards that make up a good Omaha high starting hand, you have a playable hand. Of course, at 3 AM, everything is playable.
