Re: JJ in late position
Without specific reads, this is quite horrible. Just flat call initially. Easy fold to the push.
I really really think your "new NL challenge" is ambigious now. Oh well |

Re: JJ in late position
Happens to the best of us. JJ is a pretty tough hand to play. It looks so good, but so often it isnt.
Out of curiosity, how do yall play JJ from early position, especially UTG? |

Re: JJ in late position
I'd just call and play for set value (assuming the stacks are deep). I'm probably folding to another raise.

[/ QUOTE ] I'll bet 3xBB and see how it develops. If a solid player raises, I'm folding. I'll sometimes limp with JJ and call a 4xBB bet (at most). I'm mainly playing for set value. |

Re: JJ in late position
What do you think about limping, then:
If its raised from MP, call and play it for a set. If its raised from late position (especially by a LAG), reraise. It may get some dead money in the pot from MP limpers, and theres a good chance you'll have the best hand. Not to mention that the limpreraise generally represents AA or KK, and you can represent that and perhaps bluff out a better hand like QQ. |

Re: JJ in late position
Definitely fold to the huge re-raise.
I would just call with the 2 Jacks in LP. 2 people in front of you already showed strength. I would call for set value. |

Re: JJ in late position
I think it is likely you are behind preflop but you cant be certain. I would probably call and see if anyone shows any strength to suggest they had an overpair and of course try to catch a set and get payed off by AA, KK or QQ.
Its close preflop between folding and calling if you ask me it really does depend on how they have been playing, was the table pretty aggressive preflop or did they usually just like to see a flop? |
