Because you are in highschool a card is the correct answer. It will anger her and for some reason might make her attracted to you.

The wrong answer is to go overboard. Based on the 'well its my birthday' comment + the fact that she knows youre into her but has no interest in you it seems that she thinks that you are a sap. Getting her something nice will make her think less of you.

If you are ok with just being friends with her, then find something that she likes but something small. Burning a couple CDs of music she likes is a good idea... find something small or nothing at all...

If you go the "just a card" route you really need to pick the right card. The plan won't work if you get some sappy ass card. Get a FUNNY card. Someething that shows her how perfect you are for her.
