this one\'s a little different
I have a bit of a fishy image at the time. About a half hour ago, I hit some big hands against the table coach. I havent really played many hands since then, so it probably looks like i'm playing weak tight.
CO has been here the whole time and is tag, 23/8 SB just sat down and is unknown 30/60 CO open raises, button and SB cold call, I call from BB with KJs spaids flop: 9, T, 4 one checked to CO who bets, button folds, SB raises, I 3-bet???, both call turn: T SB checks, I bet, CO calls, SB folds River: 3 or something like that I bet... good? real bad? |

I like 3-betting preflop here. [/ QUOTE ] hmmm... never crossed my mind although its probably the better play. What about the check 3-bet on the flop? |

I would start by betting the flop.

Re: this one\'s a little different
I call preflop, CO is a bit weak on his raising standards if he is 23/8, also button and SB calling probably means that your KJs isnt too crash hot.
This is a nice flop to call 1 bet I'm not calling 2 though. You only have a bunch of weak draws, gutshot, BD flush, 2 overcards that will likely improve someone elses hand to 2 pair or a straight. River bet, ehh need a read for that. |

Re: this one\'s a little different
By the time it came back to me for 2 bets on the flop, when it comes back to me, the pot definately isnt small and i think i have a chance to clear up some of my overcard outs if i can get CO to fold.
I think by the time i get to the river, with all the strength i've shown, i'm getting better than 10.5 to 1 on him folding against most opponents, although this opponent did feel the need to call me down with QJ... |

Re: this one\'s a little different
You arent folding a ten and you arent folding QJ.
I think those are the most likely hands you will be up against (with no reads I doubt a 9 is going to checkraise the flop 4way). Even though your odds are fairly good you will pay off with second best hands a lot of the time so I prefer to fold. Obviously if you had reads here then its a different story but I'd assume the players are somewhat decent. |

Re: this one\'s a little different
It's hard for me to imagine what the CO is going to fold to your river bet that you don't already beat. The only hand I can come up with is KQ.
On the other hand, I can come up with a lot of hands that beat you that he'll probably call with. Aces, kings, queens, jacks... I mean, any made hand that calls the turn bet is probably going to call the river. When he calls despite the top card pairing, he probably doesn't think you have a ten, and has decided to call down. You have shown strength though, and your bluff doesn't have to work often, AND you save yourself getting bluffed out the times you actually have the best hand (could you check and CALL?!). It's probably close on the river. I bet by instinct there myself, then look back after he calls and wonder what I was hoping to fold... Good luck. Eric |
