Default Re: Troubling KK hand, with a nasty flop.

I want to take it down vs a small pocket pair or a hand like AJs. I think a C/R risks too much to find out where I'm at (and I still have 4 outs to the nuts). So I don't want to put in more than necessary on the flop.

[ QUOTE ]
I highly doubt he would call with any pair below 9's (giving OESD) on the flop after my big PF reraise. The worst hand I could have given the action is KK, then AA. Other possibilities for me are sets or AK for the flopped straight.

What would an overbet accomplish more than my bet? If he calls, do I go into check fold mode?

[/ QUOTE ]I guess it depends on your read of Villian. You are in horrible position with a great preflop hand against an ugly board. For me, if he calls my overbet, I check the turn. My table image will include CRs so if he bets out, that is when I respect it.

I just felt your bet advertised you were behind. Its just how I would have played it. Not right or wrong per se, just my opinion. There is always the possibility you chase out a number of hands depending on your table image.
