I've tried searching for an answer to this in the forums, but can't find anything other than they are hard to play. I'm entering a MTT (T2500, 40 players) on the weekend that has 20 minute blinds starting at $25/$50 and basically doubling from there. Is there any strategy besides 'don't play them'?

We have a monthly game here that is about like that. Best strategy I have found is to play tight until around the 3rd level (for us it's 75/150), since the weaker players will be playing every thing they can because they think it's a "cheap flop". Start loosening up with stealing blinds and getting the weaker players to pay you off on your big hands once they get to the "wow, 450 is a lot to call." mode. That seems to be the magic number in our games where the comfort level starts to decrease.
Played 4 times, finished 3rd, 1st, 4th with that strategy, busted early when I tried playing overly agressive from the beginning. TT |

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely have to try that.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the table reacts to the fast blinds. |
