Yes. In the end you trade your valuable time for a profitable but non-productive activity that absolutely requires that you bring out the worst in the people around you, people you probably don't really respect. What's so great about that?

A better angle is to use poker as great way to practice thinking correctly about business. Then, go start one.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of business is building a strong team. Here, you surround yourself with winners and forge strong team-oriented relationships, while applying everything you know about poker to crush the competition with your team and solid strategies. Killing the competition with a team is absolutely one of the best working experiences you can have.

Poker is a classroom. When you go to school, the goal is focus on learning something. Then, you are supposed to graduate.

the biggest advantage i see to getting friendly with the fish is that they'll sometimesi softplay aginst you while you can still never softplay against them.

Also, they stay longer unless completely broke.
