Default Re: Any validity to this online tell?

I use the auto "check" function quite often myself, only checking "Check/Fold" on the really hopeless hands - I mean, I don't care if I think the guy is stealing my blinds from the button with crap if I'm holding an 83o - I'm not going to waste time defending blinds with horrible hands.

I also can be a bit more sneaky as well - I often don't check anything at all, and wait on the action. If it's folded to SB (I'm in the BB), and I have a reasonably decent hand, I'll click on "Raise Any" as a matter of course. I do the same on the button with a reasonable hand if I suspect the CO likes to steal a lot - wait until it's folded to him, click the "Raise Any" button. Am I auto-raising because I've got Aces, or just because I'm trying to isolate? You decide. :-)

I'll also do this sometimes with very strong hands - like Aces, Kings, etc. - I rarely "auto-raise" from late position unless I see action already occurring before me. Much better to let it fold to you, then pause, and then raise - gives the impression of a blind steal.

You should care. The less often the Button is trying to steal your blinds while your in the BB, the more often it will be folded to you.
