Heads up Single table tournies?
Just wondering, does anyone play these for consistant profit?
Because over the last 2 days i've played about 6 hours of heads up $25 Stt's (1.25 rake) and have amassed a profit of $500 which isn't amazing but still pretty nice (for a student anyhow) I was just wondering does anyone play these for profit and can they be consistantly beaten in much the same way as stt's? (5% rake instead of 10% also) Or did I just get a good streak? |

Re: Heads up Single table tournies?
(NL STT as well, not limit.)
I equally consider myself a strong heads up player, play alot of heads up at university against a few mates and do well in stt's with 1st being my average placing itm (not saying i'm amazing just I guess my itm suffers for 1sts). The only reason I ask is that I never really considered playing these for a decent return. |

Re: Heads up Single table tournies?
Strassa loves these. I think he has about a 65% win rate, which is about as good as you can hope for over the long run. Sounds like you were running very well. They are incredibly fun.
Also, Stars has HU mtt's. Those run twice a day and fun to play in, too. |

Re: Heads up Single table tournies?
Thank you for your reply.
I played a hu mtt on absolute poker some year or two ago. It was a bit strange though, I believe everyone started with 2k chips but I stacked like 5 people in 10 minutes (I got lucky cards they weren't good or got unlucky) So people were coming to play me HU with 4k chips when I had 20k chips, does this happen on stars too? (at one point I had over half the chips in the tourny, and no i didn't win so stoopid ) |
