Re: Did I play this AA bad?
Ok, you played it very bad.
You have to raise more before the flop as you must now if you've EVER read a SSNL post. It sucks that only the button/blinds are in against you, but it still isn't a good enough reason to min-raise. I think it's almost more dangerous as you cannot put them on a hand whatsoever. With the Q85 flop you got, the SB could easily have Q5/58/Q8. On the flop, the pot is $5 after SB's donk-bet. You need to immediately raise to about $3 or $4 and find out where you are in the hand. If they push on you, it's a tough call, but IMHO going 3-way to the turn is horrible too. The check-call by Button and SB on the turn is very weird. The river call makes me think he either has two pair and is afraid of the straight or has Q4 for the ass end of the straight. I know you hate to hear this, but your preflop play and subsequent small flop-raise makes this hand absolutely disaster. And it's better to take the blinds than lose $26 (if in fact you did) |

Re: Did I play this AA bad?
Horrible minraise preflop from the BB.
Horrible half pot raise on the flop. The bet on the turn is a bit better, but by this point you're looking at a fairly connected board against two opponents who could have just about anything. Check/fold the river. |

Re: Did I play this AA bad?
While $15:$34.50 isn't a bad ratio for a blocking bet, since you didn't improve, the turn $8 is probably enough on the river. A naked queen isn't going to raise you and neither would a strangely played KK. (a.k.a. the only hands you beat)

Then raise more often, not a smaller amount.

Re: Did I play this AA bad?
If your raises aren't getting any callers, don't start raising less.
Change tables. Or lower your raising standards, QTs, etc. (with position of course) |
