Re: Rio and WSOP cash games
Went to the MGM on Saturday night, and they refused to let me play because of my attire, i was wearing a Kevin Garnett Jersey and apparently, it was unacceptable, but i've played there several times and no one has said anything, needless to say i wont be playing there again, plently of other rooms in town will take my rake.

Re: Rio and WSOP cash games
while there's nothing illegal in a dress code in and of itself, a policy of not allowing jerseys certainly seems discriminatory as it appears to target one specific cultural section of the population
i just can't really see it making much sense in today's world if i went to a casino wearing a $400 throwback and they told me i couldn't play because my shirt wasn't up to their standards |

Maybe the guy just wasn't a T-Wolves fan? |

Re: Rio and WSOP cash games
I don't see it as a particularly awful rule. If every other room in town will welcome your business, is it really that bad if one room caters to a different crowd?

Re: Rio and WSOP cash games
can you honestly tell me that you think this qualifies as "catering to a specific crowd" more so than as excluding a specific crowd?
or are you suggesting that the mgm is catering to a crowd that really would prefer that a certain other "crowd" was excluded from their establishments, regardless of attire? |

Re: Rio and WSOP cash games
If you're trying in some way to suggest it's based on race, I would suggest in turn that you go outside and take a look around. Sports themed clothing covers the spectrum.
My impression of their policy from hearing about this isolated incident is that their target market might be people who put on something decent when they go out. No more, no less. Martin |

Re: Rio and WSOP cash games
I got kicked out of a casino just today for wearing a WWF tank top and my favorite pair of cutoff jeans. They really do hate white people don't they?

Re: Rio and WSOP cash games
it wasnt even a guy who said i couldnt wear the jersey while playing, it was a chick so there goes that theory. As for wearing your ben wallace jersey while playing, unless you have a shirt underneath you'll be refused service as well.
