Default Turn

Canterbury 8/16

Open limper. I raise in the CO with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], BB calls. I have no reads on BB, other than he is about a 22-yr old suburban white kid with a baseball hat on crooked. I hate that.

Flop (3 ways)
J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

BB donk-bets, limper folds, I raise, BB calls.

Turn: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB checks, I........

i would raise in this situation. your opponents check on the turn shows weakness to me and the fact that you have the nut flush draw and 2 overcards that you could hit i think anything but a raise is a bad move.

if he raises you, then you probably are beat at this point but id call and see the river to try and make your flush.

I take the free card.

This could set up a river call with A-high, btw.

Tougher without any kind of read, but I would check behind against a "typical" opponent. (Loose/passive)

It seems he's likely got a pair that he wants to showdown, and if you check the turn he might bet the river and call a raise if you make your hand.

Also, a typical opponent will be less likely to bet the river with a busted draw, so you won't be moved off the best no-pair hand as often even if you do take a free card.

all of it. title and text. you seem to be advocating a turn raise, but I can't raise the turn.

It's close between betting and taking the free card. You could get him to fold a better hand (4 or 5). The free card is very enticing though. A read here would definitely have been useful.

I check here. If you don't improve you have a tough river decision though.
