Mason\'s book reviews archive? West\'s stud book any good?
Are Mason's book reviews available collectively somewhere on the web? I have his book that includes reviews at the end (have too many Malmuth books, forget which one it is), but I'm looking for reviews on newer books that aren't included there - I think I have all the ones I want that were published before the last few years. I know some of his reviews are included in Kimberg's site, but are they available anywhere else? I've seen a few individual reviews that he's posted here, but those are hard to find a few weeks later.
One book I was wondering about in particular is West's stud book. I've heard good things about it, but that it's geared toward beginners. Would it be of any use to someone who's read and reread 7CSFAP, and logged hundreds (maybe thousands?) of hours at the stud tables? Thanks! |

Re: Mason\'s book reviews archive? West\'s stud book any good?
Hi Grapes:
I've never written a formal review of West's book. It's geared towards complete beginners and does a pretty good job for someone just starting out and playing low limit games. If you've read SCSFAP and played much, it probably won't benefit you. This is especially true if you're playing higher than $10-$20. best wishes, Mason |

I\'ll second Mason\'s comments
Really pushes good, tight play for beginners. If you've beaten 7CSFAP to death, you won't need it... unless you need to retrench.
