About the first hand : I am not so sure if the best play after the second draw is to break a ten. I think it's definetely correct to bet out, however after you get raised you have to think about why your oponent is raising. He expects you to bet out anyway so for him its a very good move to raise here with either a jack, a ten or a rough nine to make you break a better hand. The other possibility is that he raises with a 7 or a smooth 8. I think with any reasonable 9 (maybe any 9) or rough 8 the best thing for your oponent is to smooth call and stand pat behind you.
Thats why I think in this case your oponent either raised to make you break a better hand or with a very strong hand that you are drawing slim against. So I think in this case you should have called and stand pat and after that definetely a crying call on the river. |
