Re: Suspect turn bet, comments please.
I'm not sure if you mean his turn bet or your turn bet.
Your turn bet is very very bad. You bet 400 into a t500 pot with only 350 behind it. You are pretty much committed to the pot. To make it worse, you're playing against a bigstack. If he has a queen he's not going anywhere no matter the bet. The only thing you can hope to make him lay down is a bigger draw or a weak pair, in which case you need to apply maximum pressure. I think the better play is to just check the turn/river and fold to any bet. A queen is just too likely a holding for someone calling your flop bet. You also have very little fold equity against a big stack. You tried to take the pot down on the flop, but accept your losses and wait for a better spot to put all your chips in. As for his turn bet, it is not really suspect at all. All it tells you is that you are very much behind. You are 15% against a Q and 25% against a naked pair. The pot is laying you 20%. So if you put him 50-50 b/w the two then a call is roughly neutral. If you think he has the queen though, then it may actually be right (albeit lame) to fold and try to double through again. You still have 7xBB so that's not a terrible play either. |
