Default J8 in BB against a raise

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises</font>, <font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, Hero calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero caps</font>, MP2 calls.

Turn: (6.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP2 calls.

River: (8.25 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP2 folds.

Final Pot: 9.25 BB

Is this good aggressive poker or is this crazy play that I got lucky on? My read on villain is that he's loose and aggressive.

1) FOLD PREFLOP. J8o is garbage, even against a blind stealer.

2) Capping this flop is total chip spewage. If you're going to defend with this hand, check-raise the flop and call a 3bet, then call down.

Ok he's open raising from MP. But I still fold preflop pretty quickly. From the button I might reconsider but I think you're even behind most open raising hands (provided villain will open raise lighter than normal).

Fold preflop.

Also, my typical line against blind stealers is to check/call, check/call, check/call. If he's got a legit hand and smashing me, I don't want to spew. On the other hand, if we raise and he has garbage, he'll probably fold to our raise. I like to keep him betting at me. There's also argument for a bet/call line at the end if we hit the board, I believe (WA/WB).

I would fold preflop. I don't like being heads up with a hand like J8o. I think you got lucky u flopped an 8 instead of a J.

I don't know why you'd fold this PF. This is an unbelievably easy defense for me HU against an open raise from MP2. At .50/1.00 I guess you can get away with folding, but 1/2 and beyond, you really need to be willing to defend.

I think the flop cap is excessive, but it really depends on your opponent. If you know he'll push UI overcards that hard, then I can live with it. Blind defense hands are really read dependent. Given that you did cap the flop, the turn is fine. The river seems to have worked out for you, but I'm not betting unless I can fold to a raise and I really want to show down this hand.

My "typical" line against an unknown in this situation is to C/R the flop and if 3-bet, call. Sometimes I stop-n-go the turn and I'll fold to a raise just because I haven't found many players willing to push UI overcards that hard; othertimes, I c/c down.
