Spokane, WA
A couple of times a year I wind up in Spokane....so was wondering where to play.
I've played at the Northern Quest casino a few times, but their "must move" policy really, really annoys me. Other suggestions for cardrooms in Spokane would be appreciated. -bdy |

Re: Spokane, WA
I live in Spokane and almost always play at Big Daddy's. It is up on the South Hill in Lincoln Heights if you know where that it.
Right now they run a 2-6 spread game. They also have a bad beat jackpot, high hand bonuses, and they just started "Flush Fridays" where if you get an Ace high flush on Friday (both of your cards must play, you must be holding the Ace, and the hand must go to the river) you get an extra $50. Made $100 on that last Friday. The dealers there are by far the best in town. They have the most experience and are the most friendly. It is a small room with 4 tables and usually there is live games at 1 or 2 of them. As far as players go there is a good mix of people who know what they are doing, people just there for a good time, and people who are clueless and drop money. There is usually at least 1 or 2 people feeding the table. The play isn't maniacal where the betting is capped every round and 7 people going to the river so you can play some semblance of a "real" poker game. The quality of play overall is probably a step above Northern Quest. They also have daily tournaments. At 12:30 they have a $10 buy in with 30 people plus alternates and at 9 PM they have a $20 with a $20 rebuy that gets 20 people plus alternates. Check it out next time you are in town. I usually play there 2 or 3 times a week. Their food is also very good. |

Re: Spokane, WA
One note about Big Daddy's if you check it out, if you want to avoid looking like a n00b, know that their poker room is upstairs. I spent a few minutes wandering around the casino/bowling alley part before noticing signs for the upstairs poker room.

Re: Spokane, WA
Yeah, it is upstairs from the restaurant. It is tucked away from the rest of the casino/bowling alley so it is nice and quiet.

Re: Spokane, WA
There's a new casino (opened about 1 month ago) called Marilyn's. It's in downtown spokane by the "Big easy". I haven't been there since it's 21+. But I've seen inside, and it's NICE. I think it only has 2 or 3 tables running now, prolly 2/4 to 5/10.

Re: Spokane, WA
Thanks to you as well.
You know, I really didn't mind the players at Northern Quest...but what bothered me was the "must move" policy where the hooplehead floor guy kept on wrecking good games to keep the "main" table sufficiently occupied. Whatever. Anyway, thanks again for the refferals. I'll try 'em out next time I'm in Spokane. Most likely in July. -bdy |
