Default Party and Stars 3 table MTT\'s

First off.... should this post belong here in MTTs ( I think so) or the SNG forum?

I've been playing the Party 3 table MTT's alot lately and doing well. Started playing the same ones on Stars but not doing so well there yet).

Here's some structure differences ($5 level)

Stars
Buy in $5+$.50
players 27
payout 1st $50 (37%)
2nd $36 (27%)
3ed $24 (18%)
4th $14 (10%)
5th $11 (8%)

Party
Buy in $5+$1
players 30
payout 1st $45 (30%)
2nd $37.50 (25%)
3ed $30 (20%)
4th $22.50 (15%)
5th $15 (10%)

A bit flatter payout on the Party one, %10 more cost, and 3 more players. Stars is cheaper, less players, more $ to the top 2 spots.

Is there any advantage to playing one site over the other based on these numbers?

regards,
Tim

I play these some as well (sng'er getting mtt practice). RE: the numbers, you're paying 20% vs. 10% with party vs. stars, so that is enough to keep me away from the 5$ tourneys at party. Also, I prefer the stars structure in these. FWIW, I seem to do about the same on either site (wrt ITM).

I started playing S&Gs back last July, and the 30 person Party's were the ones I did the best in, won a few $30s and made some loot. They have tightened up a good deal since then, last one i played on party was in Dec and the avg tourney was taking about 20 min longer than in July.

I personally prefer PStars's tourneys, but i am partial to their blind structure.

I like how PStars is introducing 45 player $1 tourneys - hopefully those will start to have $10 buy ins soon...

To answer your original post, I would think that unless Party's are significantly softer (I've not played them at Stars), the rake at Party's likely makes them less profitable.

However, I also wanna say that I don't think these can be as profitable as 10h SNGs are. Simply put, they take too freakin long. So your hourly rate is inevitably going to be less than if you were playing 10player SNGs for the same amount of time. They are more fun I think... But in the long run, I think you would make more money in the 10handed.

The Party 30+3s 3 tables are VERY soft. I have made over 1k playing them every once in a while during last few months.
