Empress Joliet, IL

Wondering if there are any regs that visit this casino here... I have watched some 5/10 10/20 played there and it seems to be super soft and really loose.

More intrested on any thoughts of the 5/10 game that goes on there. Just turned legal and I am thinking about making some regular stops there over the summer. Any advice?

I haven't been there yet, but I can't wait for them to open the poker up on the weekends. IF that happens. That would be fantastic.

Supposedly, Empress is going under new ownership and the tiny 4-table poker room is closing down July 1. BTW, I called them up today and they said admission is currently free. Not sure how long that is going to stay like that.

I heard just the opposite from my buddy who plays there several times a week. He said they are going to expand it ASAP. They just started the NL game, and it sounds like a real sluggfest from what he told me...older greeks slamming chips around... [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] I cannot wait to get there myself.

i heard that from a guy who plays there on occasion so your friend is probably more accurate. it's just surprising to me that my friend had a specific date in mind. when i called empress and inquired about this, they said that they were going under new ownership, but they had not heard anything about the poker room closing (but they might say something like that to keep the poker room active for now), but i'm still assuming you are right. I'd love to play in a NL game there. i wish they'd expand to the weekend though.

I play there about a once a week. I was there last night and the rumors are they will be closing the poker room, 1 craps table, and another bj table. This is what the dealers are saying. Nothing official, just rumors. That would be too bad. It is one of the softest 10-20 games I have ever played in.
