Re: Common situation for me, need help.
I used to auto-muck this one(total lack of confidence in my postflop play), but have changed depending on the circumstances.
I think you have to pick your spots and be keenly aware of your opponent and his tendencies. It especially helps if you are viewed as tight/reasonable and the raiser is a thinking player(capable of folding overs). |

Re: Common situation for me, need help.
no. but i have to have reason not to. every post before this said fold because the guy is overly tight. that's not what you said in the first post, so i don't know why it went in that direction.
you didn't mention what position he was in, what position you were in and whether the guy was position aware. obviously if the guy only raises AK and big pairs then i would muck it. |

Re: Common situation for me, need help.
I agree with the responses so far--more info needed. However I guess my kneejerk response to this hand is raise. IMO, raising will give you the info you need to narrow his hand down, plus increase equity in the pot. However, I am in the same situations as the OP many times, and I've been losing a lot of money lately....hmmm correlations to crummy moves like this?

[ QUOTE ] Fold on both counts. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is bad. A range of hands must be thought about and evaluations must be based on that. I would say a lot of the it may be correct to fold like you say but the OP did not give enough information for this to be a fold all the time in both places. [/ QUOTE ] I agree that we need more information. A loose raiser, I will reraise. An average raiser coming in from late position, I probably pop it again. To the OP - do you have a specific type of player in mind, or are you just speaking about generalities? |

Re: Common situation for me, need help.
3-bet if he raises from MP. And fold if he raises from EP.
