Default poker jargon

Can somebody tell me what "wired" or "wired pair" means in poker. Sklansky uses that term in his books.

Your hole cards are paired: 44, KK, JJ, etc.

no problem. I had to read it in several places assume I knew what it ment, then finally find it in the glossary in one of my books.

you have put no chips in. someone ahead of you raises.

you call 2 bets. that's a cold call.

You have no investment in the pot. You are entering it cold. In theory you need a very strong hand to cold call. In practice cold calls from the various insane players are a big source of a) your bad beats and b) profit.

It's calling more than one bet at a time. Player X bets, player Y calls, then you, player Z, can call.

Player X bets, player Y raises... it's 2 bets to you. If you call for 2 bets, it's considered calling "cold" since you never called the first bet initially.
