poker jargon
Can somebody tell me what "wired" or "wired pair" means in poker. Sklansky uses that term in his books.

Re: poker jargon
Your hole cards are paired: 44, KK, JJ, etc.

Re: poker jargon
You have no investment in the pot. You are entering it cold. In theory you need a very strong hand to cold call. In practice cold calls from the various insane players are a big source of a) your bad beats and b) profit.

Re: poker jargon
[ QUOTE ]
why isn't that just a call? why is it cold call? [/ QUOTE ] It's calling more than one bet at a time. Player X bets, player Y calls, then you, player Z, can call. Player X bets, player Y raises... it's 2 bets to you. If you call for 2 bets, it's considered calling "cold" since you never called the first bet initially. |
