Posting blind:

Flop and turn I'd play the same. No one gives any sign of having a made straight or anything to worry me. On the river, however, anyone that stuck around with a pair of nines now beats your two pair. You say it yourself...you doubt anyone with a 9 will fold, so why'd you bet out? I think that is a check/call situation.

I like this line up until the river. With three people still remaining, I would assume that one of them must be holding a 9. There is also the possibility of busted str. and flush draws, but with three left I would say check/call one bet back to you on the river.

If it were HU, I would say your line was good.

Yes, perfect. Note that in case the person on your immediate left bets, go for a checkraise on the turn as long as its a safecard.

You tried to get SB off his hand, he is not budging. Flop and turn look okay, I think I call the river. You are not really expecting a fold, so why continue to bet? Playing in the blinds with hands you normally would not call with can be costly. (PF: action is folded to SB who only completes, maybe a raise preflop would be better with this hand?)

How would it be to check the flop, hoping for a late position bet you could check-raise?

[/ QUOTE ]

we have a winner

your flop bet doesn't protect your hand (just gives people odds to chase their gutshot on the river) - you check here, hoping that a late position player bets.

if it gets checked through, you bet a safe turn card (as your equity either goes way up or way down after seeing the turn card)

i think a hand nearly identical to this is in sshe

[/ QUOTE ]

The threat of being checked thru is way too great to risk giving someone free card on this draw rich board. W/no pf raising, suggesting weak, speculative hands, 9 times out of 10 this gets checked thru. River bet is fine, call if raised.

With no reads (as you stated) it probably is. With a good read on SB, i might try it. Maybe. - - just a thought

I may have miscounted but it seems as if the river bet(I included all the people saying "play it the same") or c/c was split 5 and 5. So I think I'll put in a vote for the bet/fold. My resoning is that there has been no indication your beat coupled with the regular "If betting out is -ev then check/calling is more -ev" line.
