KK in EP
First orbit at a newly formed 2/5 200 min, no max @ Caesar's Louisville.
EP, I ($1100) raise KK to 20. Cutoff ($900) makes it 50 to go, fold to me. It is my first pot of the day, villain knows the floor and dealers by first name, but otherwise no read. I call thinking I'll get a continuation bet, check/raise a bet or check/fold if an Ace flops. Good idea? Flop is 228. Check, check. What does this check tell me? Turn is a K. Now what? |

Re: KK in EP
I would check it. You ahve the nut boat. slowplay it. If he was slow playing the deuces, and youre in EP and you check again, he might get worried and try to bet into you. If he doesnt have the deuces and you check it all the way to the end, you'll win. If you had bet, you could've taken it down right there and if he didnt have the trips, thats all that you wouldve won. But if you slow play it, you'll give him a chance to stab.

I can't put him on a deuce (one or two) with a reraise and knowing he's a regular. I thought big pair or AK. If big pair then why didn't he bet the flop?
Anyway, I checked, he checked. River a Q. I bet pot ($100), he minraises to $200. I push, he calls with 88. |

Re: Results
Well it worked out for you, but that is why you should bet the turn - to build a pot and get him committed him sooner.
A better player gets away from his flopped boat (MAYBE)after all of that river action and with a still relatively small pot. ***Edit to say that a better player probably gets you all in on the flop and loses the hand anyway, but that's besides the point. |

Re: KK in EP
Easy bet. When I have a full house, I like to build a pot. Who gives a crap if you win one medium bet on the river?

Re: KK in EP
The check/check on the flop should tell you AA or 88.
So bet the K :-) |
