Small home game
Being new to no limit, the following hand illustrates one of my many weaknesses.
7 handed. $5 buy-in; $0.10 SB, $0.20 BB. Reads: All noobs except for me. First hand of the night, I am the Big Blind with 97o UTG calls, MP calls, SB folds, I check. Flop comes A 7 9 rainbow. I check. UTG bets $0.50. MP calls. I raise to $2.00. UTG pushes. MP calls. I call. Can I avoid losing my stack here? Responses welcome, Fishlips |

Re: Small home game
no you must lose your stack there everytime
btw your game structure is really wierd with regards to the $5 buy-in (youre all starting with 25xBB) ... im assuming its an all-in fest till people have built up to stacks of about $15-$20 or so ... i might suggest lowering the blinds to .05/.10 or increasing the buy-in to at least $10 - just my $0.02 |

Re: Small home game
i only call here if i think he goes all in w/ just an ace
i would lead the flop w/ a pot size bet instead of c/r and see what he does if he had just an ace, he will prolly freeze up and call, and a raise means you are probably beat (again unless he loves top pair) so he probably showed A9 or A7 right? if he had a set he would probably slow play on a rainbow flop (if he's a noob) |

Re: Small home game
Turn and river are rags.
MP shows AK for TPTK. UTG shows...AA for top set. Fishlips |
