At what point do consider the game short-handed ? 9,8,7,6,5 players?? When do you start using Sklansky's "the hands to call with" on page 187 ?? How does having 8, 7 , or 6 people now affect what position you are in ?? Is three from the BB still EP and 6 from the BB still MP ?? Thanks a ton !!

Some places consider 5 players shorthanded and others 6 players.
In a 5 handed game there would be the SB, BB, UTG, some other guy, and the button. |

I usually start playing looser at around 7 players including me on the table so 12 potential cards that can beat my two cards. Most sites have 5 handed shorttables and Party has a six.

Yah, it is funny that all of the places that I have played consider 5 players as a short-handed game are full with 10 players while a 6-handed short game is full with 9 players. It really boils down to the decision whether to play or chop the blinds. Those players that embrace the "6-hands-is-a-short-game" philosophy just don't like to chop and are looking for a diplomatic way around the chopping issue. I really wish they chuck the 9-handed games for the 10-handed ones.
To me, a short-handed game is 5 or fewer players. |

Usually when it gets 5-handed and 4-handed I consider it short handed. Thats when I start playing a wider range of hands in a typical game.
