Q7s in SB - position problems
Any problems with the turn bet? What's my line on the river?

Re: Q7s in SB - position problems
.... check call?
This is a tricky one. That there are two people still in doesn't make it any easier. They might be on busted straight or flush draws but I still don't think your hand is strong enough to bet. If you check the river you might induce a bluff. I hate being in this spot. -aron |

Re: Q7s in SB - position problems
check/call IMO. i thought check/fold, but i'd hate to fold to a busted draw. but either the 9 or K could have been draws that backed into a pair.
i thought about betting out, but only hands that you beat are folding; you doubtfully would get raised by K or 9, but they aren't folding either, and a lower pp may bet too. so you're probably seeing the showdown either way, and both ways cost the same. |

Re: Q7s in SB - position problems
Definitely a tough spot to be in. If either of the villians had shown any aggression on the turn, I would say check/fold. But, being that they didn't, I would go with a check/call here. Your check may induce a bluff from a busted str. or flush draw.

I think Check/Call
But don't overcall. Sarge[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] |

Re: Q7s in SB - position problems
Q7s I fold PF unless sitting late and it is folded to me to steal. You got a piece of the flop and the bet on the flop is good. Turn bet is okay, you need some info on where you stand and that is probably the best way to get it. Getting called on the turn is a bit worrisome. I would check the river, getting another bet in the pot is probably not going to knock these guys out (having some read on them would definitely help), I'd call one bet, fold to a raise. My experience has been that playing marginal hands from the blinds (esp. when I get a piece of the flop) is -EV.

[/ QUOTE ]\ If your post flop play is suspect then what you say is true. Playing marginal hands well is the difference between a good and an average player. This is a no-brainer preflop call for the vast majority of players on the forum. In fact, I think most 2+2 players would play any two suited cards in the sb if it was limped around to them in a small stakes game. |
