I agree with Sublime, they are good for when you first start out to give you a foundation .. after that they are worthless [/ QUOTE ] Great! We all agree, like a big happy family |

Re: Best starting hand chart for shorthanded games?
But when moving to shorthanded play from full ring I assume there will be differences in hand value, not just from the differences in number of players but perhaps even more because of the higher agression. Am I correct?
sure, you want to come in for raises more often, play hands like KJ/AT up front for raises, openraise JT in the co...raise alot on the button etc.....but you will find out that the chart becomes meaningless because of all the variables. like, what did you just show down? can you raise with K6 in the CO and get it HU with the weak BB player?.....will the button fold most of the time if you raise here, or am i better off just overlimping?....stuff like that. |

Re: Best starting hand chart for shorthanded games?
i dont think starting hand charts are foolish. when i first started playing 5/10 6max 50k hands ago i looked at a few starting hand charts because i was new to shorthanded. 50k hands later im killing 5/10. maybe not because of the chart, because ive made my own preflop guidelines, but it certainly helped me get on track.
however, for the record, i dont like mebenhoe's chart and i wouldnt recommend going by those guidelines. |
