Default Statistics Formulas

I'd like to know how player and table looseness and aggressiveness are/could be calculated.

For example, to classify a player as loose, then he would have to call 70% of the time. And to classify the table as loose, then 70% of the players are in the hand on average.

Aggressive players raise 50% of the time, and aggressive tables have 2.5 raises on average per round of betting.

What do you guys think? Is there a place where this is discussed extensively?

I'd say your numbers are liberal, to say the least. Poker Tracker has general stats for different types of players, and ranks them accordingly. Someone who raises 50% of their hands would almost certainly be considered a maniac, not an aggressive player.

I consider calling preflop 40% of the time to be pretty loose. 70% would be absurd at a normal game.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the numbers you're referring to.
