I think I read that he plays golf a lot more now and he's not a total fish.

I was just at the Taj a few days ago, and an old-timer (early 50s with a large roll) said he used to play with Phil Ivey in stud all the time at the Tropicana and belittled his play (saying ivey was always trying to run over the table). I said "but he got good", and the old-timer responded with "no, he got rich". Sounds a little like jealousy. Just thought to share.

I wouldn't say he rubbed their face in it -

they all knew him by name as jerome and finally he had to come clean and say..."uh, my name isn't jerome, it's Phil, sorry" and they said they suspected but could never prove it - all was forgiven -

Would your mother be proud knowing that her son spends his time pretending to be racist on the internet to make other men upset? When you were a child and you thought of who you'd be as an adult is this it? Are you proud of what you've accomplished? Would your mother be proud?

What is wrong with what he said? I grew up playing basketball and eating corn bread/watermelon. Im of European descent and im not offended by what he has said nor is there anything racist about it.

Either you're joking or you're an idiot. Either way, Phil Ivey is probably the worst candidate for a racist joke. When a black kid dominates a white profession and acts with infinite class, you probably don't wanna call him the stereotypical hick black person.
