Default Fishing 101

Canterbury Park 6/12. Very loose, passive table. Very good.

I am MP3 with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

3 limpers to me. I limp. Next dude raises (damn), blinds come along.

Flop (14SB) (7 players)
7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

checks to pf raiser who bets, 3 calls, I call closing the action.......

Yuck--playing a hand with only "connectedness," without position, does not seem like a great idea, even against fish.

That doesn't mean you need to contribute to its goodness.

That's a bad limp. I might do it on the button, but not MP3. You have one bd draw. Also, with three people calling and the PFR betting into the full field at a passive table, your pair outs are no good. So all told u probably have maybe 1 out. I fold the flop even getting a bajillion to one.

I'd fold preflop. I'd also fold on the flop.

Bob,

Even I fold this one preflop. Even in a live game. On the button...I would play it. Not from MP3 though.

I don't think this was a good call pre-flop or on the flop. I understand that you may want to "gamble" a bit with your connected cards pre-flop, but what is your play post flop? With the raiser behind you, the only way to isolate is to bet into them and let them raise (pushing others out). If anyone calls 2 cold, you've got problems (cause they ain't folding their pair or whatever). Even if this works out, and all others fold, you have to put initial raiser on 2 big cards that missed, 3 bet his flop raise and then lead the turn - hoping he folds unimproved. By cheking into him and letting him bet + getting all those loose callers before you - you may be building too big a pot for him to lay down + you are giving all those other players a chance to pair up on the turn (since they aren't going to fold to your raise on the flop without seeing a turn card).

I just don't see the endgame here, unless you make your hand.
