Thanks...

As for the risk-aversion, I guess I was looking at it from the point of view that $89 payout is ~= $105 ~= $145
so I should be risk neutral, but I was stealing blinds so regularily that I should have folded. However, I really wanted the first place prize I called, he flipped over J9 suited (woo), flop came 89x (boo), no help, and I bust.

You may want to re-evaluate this thought if you are even considering calling off all your chips on J high.

Man, where were you when my JJ lost to AK?

IMO, you REALLY, and I mean REALLY have to stop looking at what place your in in the tournament and equating it to cash on a 1-1 basis. "I am in 10th, that pays X". It doesnt pay anything, finishing in 10th pays X.

Your post implied that by winning this hand, you would pocket 1st place money, which is not the case. If it were, then you should call.

Try just worrying about the # of BB you have, and where you are in reference to the table and avg. stack. The rest doesnt matter right now.

Q7o is 50/50 vs. a random hand. i couldn't find the website, but i'd imagine JTo is about 52%.

This is a insta-muck. Its not even close. You still have a decent amount of chips to look for a better spot.
